Everest Base Camp Trek

Itinerary

Day One

March 12th: Welcome to Nepal! Don’t be startled by the traffic… You’ll be picked up from Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to our 5-star hotel. Freshen up and we’ll have our welcome dinner after a quick gear check.

Day Two

March 13th: Enjoy a breakfast buffet and head out for a tour of Kathmandu’s iconic sites. This activity is optional but included. Missing gear can be rented or purchased. I can give everyone lunch & dinner recommendations to try in the city.

Day Three

March 14th: Wake up early and transfer to the airport. We’re flying to Lukla, one of the world’s most dangerous airports! There, we begin the trek along EBC. We hike 6.2km and spend the night at Phakding, at 2610m.

Day Four

March 15th: Try your first Tibetan breakfast in the teahouse before we leave for Namche Bazaar. You’ll need the energy! We arrive after 9.4km up the river gorge, at an elevation of 3440m. Once in town, I have a surprise you’ll love.

Day Five

March 16th: It’s our first acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. We’ll be hiking to Everest View Hotel, and I’ll show you my favorite cafe and bar in town after.

Day Six

March 17th: We leave the comforts of Namche for Tengboche. It’ll be 5.9km of hiking, and we’ll reach 3867m above sea level. Tengboche is home to one of the oldest monasteries in the region, and a surprisingly good bakery.

Day Seven

March 18th: It’s a big 10.5km to Dingboche today, and we wind up at 4410m. We’ll have great views of Ama Dablam and the surrounding peaks if the weather cooperates.

Day Eight

March 19th: Lucky you, it’s another acclimatization day. We’ll be heading up to Nagarjuna Hill though, which is about 4 hours of trekking.

Day Nine

March 20th: We leave Dingboche for Lobuche – new territory for me! Supposedly it’s 8.4km and will lead us to 4940m above sea level. Unless you have previous climbing experience, this is probably the highest you’ve ever been.

Day TEN

March 21st: Today’s the big day, we trek to Everest Base Camp! We’ll stop at the site of the base camp, take some photos, and soak up the scenery. When you’re done, we’ll head to Gorakshep. It’ll be 4.5km of hiking, and we’ll sleep at 5140m.

Day 11

March 22nd: We wake up early to watch the sunrise from the top of Kala Patthar. At 5,644m, it’s the high point of our trek, and an awesome achievement! Today we’ll also trek down to Pangboche. All in all, 22km. You’ll rest easy tonight though, at 3940m.

Day 12

March 23rd: It’s another big day, as we trek 15.5km from Pangboche to Namche Bazaar. Personally, I’ll be having a night out to celebrate!

Day 13

March 24th: This is it, the last stretch. 20 big K’s to take us from Namche Bazaar down to Lukla. At 2800m, you’ll breathe easy knowing you’ve conquered EBC.

Day 14

March 25th: We’ll be waking up early for our flight out of Lukla. Say goodbye to the beautiful Khumbu Region, and hello to the creature comforts of Kathmandu. We’ll be staying at the same 5-star hotel, and celebrating with a big night out!

Day 15

March 26th: Enjoy one last breakfast together, check out, and take the arranged transfer to the airport. You’ve walked 130km and climbed 2,504m, yeah you! Hopefully, you’ve also made some great memories, connected with awesome people, and learned a bit about the beautiful people who call the Khumbu home.

That’s the end of our Everest Base Camp Trek!
